Executive Summary
Our Radiology Core Lab (RCL) here at The University of Iowa Carver College of Medicine aims to deliver world-class imaging services. Our labs are technically sophisticated, clinically advanced and designed to lead innovative research using multidisciplinary tools. In developing a Radiology Core Lab, we strive to promote the mission and vision of the department while embracing the following shared values: engage faculty, deliver laboratory services using innovative approaches and provide departmental leadership. Our products and services will provide a comprehensive set of quantitative imaging services for oncologic clinical trials, radiologic expertise for image-based protocols and analysis design and accurate and precise tumor measurements using annotated images, complete with a dictated patient report. All radiological data for our clinical trials will be protected within our database management system. Benefits of the RCL include improved turnaround time and accessibility, decreased protocol deviation and error rates and collaborative interdepartmental opportunities.
